H1N1 (12-1-2010)
Malaysia is preparing itself for the second wave of H1N1 outbreak. The first wave of H1N1 which began in April 2009 had barely subsided. The Institute for Health Systems Research had undertaken a proactive approach by embarking upon a media review study of H1N1 reported in local newspapers. The study involved both a retrospective and prospective approach. A total of six local newspapers have been and are still being reviewed.

The Institute for Health Systems Research is at present involved in the evaluation of the draft Regional Strategy for Primary Health Care and Health Systems Strengthening for the Western Pacific Region of WHO. A total of twelve key informants took part in the evaluation. They comprised of senior government officials, academia, non-state providers, consumer associations and professional associations. [more]
