Introduction |

The Health Care Quality Research Division is founded on the postulate that quality is the core component of every effort that is undertaken in the sustenance and improvement of the health status of the Malaysian population.
Thus, the division will focus on areas related to technical development of quality initiatives. The services rendered by the Division are anticipated to reach out beyond the boundaries of the MOH but will also include those in the private sector. |

The functions of the division are: |
- To contribute towards the development and evaluation of tools, methods and approaches to support development of quality management system.

To provide relevant data and information to support the implementation and evaluation of the Strategic Plan for Quality in Health.

To develop standards to be used in certification, credentialing and accreditation of health providers.

To develop, implement and evaluate educational programmes to develop critical mass in the capacity and capability for quality improvement.

To document best practices, experiences and lessons learned in quality improvement efforts
