The overall objectives of this initiative are to:

Build capacity and a culture of evidence-informed decision-making in low and lower middle income countries
Decrease the gap between research and health decision and policy-making
Encourage and enable decision-makers to acquire, assess, and adapt high quality evidence when making decisions and developing policies (e.g. use of research synthesis or systematic reviews), and to commission necessary research when this is needed
Encourage and enable highly motivated individuals to be actively involved in supporting the information needs of decision-makers
Improve standards in evidence-informed decision-making through the collection and dissemination of best practices
Potentially influence partnerships between lower and higher income countries
